Sounds like a good Shel Silverstein poem, but it’s a group show put on by Mather:Kunst (Andenken Gallery affiliation) at Streetlab in Amsterdam.

This Group Exhibition features work from 6 contemporary American artists:  Evan Hecox, Rich Jacobs, Kenyon Bajus,
Buff Monster, Amanda Marie and Exploding Dog.  Artwork from the exhibit will be available for purchase.

The aim is to show how vastly different the perspective of each artist is, whilst visually marking a strange thread that
binds them all in the important web of contemporary culture.

In a nut shell, each of these artist’s personal story is a stone in a wide stream of amazing progressive visual art.

After you’re done buying up all my original pieces and prints at the show, stop by Wolf & Pack and buy all my tees and prints there… BEEEYAAAATCH!!!

Where On Earth Have You Been?

Wednesday, January 21st, 2009

Anyone going to be at the Bright Tradeshow in Frankfurt, Germany? (Jan 24-25, 2009) There will be the first installment of the group show Where On Earth Have You Been? In Hyland Mather’s own words (owner/founder of Andenken Gallery in Denver and Mather:Kunst in the Netherlands)

Basically, the show combines work from the personal collection of Malia and I, Artwork on loan from the Andenken Stacks, and lots of work that artists have sent to us over the last several months. There are a lot of personal pieces in this show for me. A piece Evan Hecox made for my birthday. A ’spin the bottle’ photograph Vin Comparetto made. A piece Faile sent at Christmas a few years ago. A long list of memories for the Mather’s. I can’t wait to see it all in one place.

This is the first installation of what we hope to make a growing traveling collection. A Dutch organization called, The Urban Arts Foundation is working with Mather:Kunst now to help make this a reality in Holland.  www.urbanartsfoundation.nl

Already, there are 200 ish pieces from about 85 artists. The roster and a program fact sheet are available on the project site: www.whereonearthproject.com

LA vs WAR

LA vs WAR

I will have some prints up in the LA vs WAR show. April 10-13, 2008 – Downtown LA

LA vs WAR highlights the travesty of a senseless war now going into its 6th year, giving LA artists a platform to exercise their freedom of speech. Hundreds of artists representing our diverse communities unite in delivering a universal message of peace and understanding, and offering resistance and opposition to the US government’s war policies.
